Teenager dead after being hit by bus

A teenage boy has died after being hit by a bus.
Bedfordshire Police were called to A600 High Road in Shortstown, near Bedford, at about 12:00 BST on Thursday.
The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
Police said road closures on High Road between Cotton End and Shortstown will remain in place.
Det Sgt Craig Wheeler from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit said: “This is an incredibly sad incident, and our sympathies are with the friends and family of the victim"
Witnesses or people with information have been asked to contact the force.
