A man was found critically injured on Luton's Marsh Farm estate

A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was left in a critical condition in hospital.

Police were called to Repton Close on Luton's Marsh Farm estate following reports someone had been seriously injured on Tuesday morning.

A police pursuit then took place towards Conway Road in the town centre while the injured man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital.

Callum Bermingham, 36, of Belmont Road, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm, dangerous driving and failure to provide a specimen for analysis as a driver. He was remanded into custody before his appearance at Luton Magistrates' Court on Friday.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesperson said the exact nature of the person's injuries could not be revealed at this time.
