Record numbers take on The Amazing Northampton Run

A record number of people completed a town's half marathon on Sunday.

About 1,700 participated in The Amazing Northampton Run, with the event also including a three-person relay and a 3.4-mile (5.5km) race.

The 13.1-mile (about 21km) loop started and finished in the Market Square and took runners past Sixfields Stadium, Franklin's Gardens and the County Ground.

The half marathon was won by Luke Greer in a course-record time of one hour, seven minutes and six seconds.
