Three arrested after man injured in serious assault

The assault happened in Wood Lane in Chippenham

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault left a man needing hospital treatment.

Wiltshire Police said the victim, aged 35, sustained a serious injury in the assault in Wood Lane, Chippenham, at about 09:30 GMT on Monday.

Three arrests have been made and all suspects have been released on bail while enquiries continue, the force added.

Officers have asked for anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault, or anyone who has any relevant footage, to contact them.
