A man has been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car.

The teenager was taken to hospital after being hit by a Vauxhall Corsa on Valley Way, Droitwich, Worcestershire, on Saturday.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later released on police bail as inquiries continue, said West Mercia Police.

Any witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 15:45 BST, were asked to contact West Mercia Police.

Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers.
