Searches have been carried out along the River Severn in Shropshire after a man was seen going into the river.
West Mercia Police said he was witnessed entering the waterway in Ironbridge at about 21:50 GMT on Friday and remained missing.
The man was described as in his late 20s or 30s, with short dark hair, of medium build and was wearing no top and dark-coloured trousers.
Police were concerned for his safety and appealed for witnesses to come forward, Det Insp Steve Goddard said.
“Any information we get will be helpful in piecing together our investigation," he added.
