Sussex Police has issued an appeal after a group of football fans reportedly assaulted five people following England's Euro final defeat.

The victims were allegedly assaulted by a group including men, women, and children - with many wearing England football shirts and carrying flags - in Havelock Road, Hastings, at about 00:30 BST on 15 July.

Shortly after, the victims were assaulted again by the group in Castle Hill Road, the force said.

A man in his 20s had serious facial injuries, which required ongoing hospital treatment, and the four other victims had minor injuries.

England had lost 2-1 to Spain in the Euro 2024 final on 14 July following a late goal from match-winner Mikel Oyarzabal.

Anyone with information about the alleged assaults is asked to contact Sussex Police.
