A man has died after a row onboard a bus, with another man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Police were called to an "altercation" between two men in Poplars and Hulme, Warrington, at 18:40 BST on Saturday.

Cheshire Police said a 74-year-old man had then collapsed on the number 20 bus on Cotswald Road as it travelled from Warrington bus station to Poplars Avenue.

The man later died in hospital and a 48-year-old man was detained while inquiries continued.

Det Insp Dave Hutcheon said: "We are keen to speak to any witnesses on the bus who have yet to come forward so that we can get a clear picture of the events leading up to the man’s death."
