Crash arrest after car failed to stop for police

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after the car he was driving crashed into another vehicle after failing to stop for police in Glasgow.

The driver and his passenger, who were in a Peugeot 3008, were taken to hospital following the smash on Milton Street in the Cowcaddens area at about 11:55 on Friday.

He had failed to stop for officers on Kyle Street before crashing into a Mercedes A180.

Police said the driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences after being released from Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The 25-year-old passenger remains in a stable condition in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.

Milton Street was closed for about 10 hours while police investigations were carried out.

Sgt Nick Twigg, of Glasgow Road Policing, said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash get in touch.

"I would also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist to contact us., external"
