A man's body has been recovered from a river after reports of a person falling into the water.

Emergency services were called to the marina at Ipswich Waterfront in Suffolk just before 15.15 BST on Tuesday.

Police confirmed that a body was located and recovered at about 11pm.

A statement said the death is not being treated as suspicious and the man's next of kin have been notified.

The search had involved police, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, HM Coastguard and the East of England Ambulance Service.

It centred on the wet dock area off Helena Road and part of the marina was cordoned off.
