Broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher has said she was shocked and afraid after being attacked on the street in central London.
The former Sky Sports presenter told her nearly 400,000 Instagram followers that a man dressed "all in black" and "covered up" had approached her around 19:00 on Tuesday as she was walking to her car after work.
"I moved out of the way, and then he brushed passed me, turned around and kicked me, like he was kicking a football," she said in a video posted on Wednesday.
The mum of two did not specify where exactly the incident occurred, but said the Metropolitan Police were now "dealing with the situation".
The force said it could not comment on cases without an exact location.
Gallacher said that by the time she had turned around, the unknown assailant had "scarpered".
"I can't quite believe what happened," she said. "I'm still shocked now, and I have the bruises to prove I'm afraid."
The broadcaster, who now presents a show for Gold Radio, added: "I was not being provocative in any way - I was just going about my business as you do, just walking to my car to go back home to my family."
She said the street was lit and people had witnessed the attack, with some "lovely girls" coming to her aid.
"I couldn't have done more to protect myself and still that happened to me," Gallacher added. "I'm very grateful to those lovely girls."
Fellow famous faces shared their sympathies, with former England rugby captain and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris Robshaw: "So sorry to hear this Kirsty, hope you're ok."
Tipping Point's Ben Shephard said he was "sending tons of love and support", while comedic actor Paddy McGuinness asked: "Hope you're ok my love?"
