Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said a man - who was believed to have been stabbed in Bishop Street - was found injured in Granby Street at about 22:40 BST on Friday.

The injured man is in a stable condition in hospital, the force added.

A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, remain in police custody.

The force said a cordon had been put in place at the scene as officers investigate and have appealed for witnesses, or those with dashcam footage, to come forward.
