Firefighters say they will attend a "complex" barn fire which broke out two days ago throughout Saturday.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service was called to the "significant" fire in Norwood Hill Road at about 00:35 BST on Thursday.

Station commander Kim West previously said the storage unit contained plastic-based and waterproof composite decking.

A brigade spokesperson said there were four pumps still at the scene on Saturday and that Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

Everyone at the scene was accounted for and while an investigation team had been to the site, the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Smoke coming from the site was not affecting nearby Gatwick Airport, the service said on Friday.

A statement on Saturday added: "It’s a complex fire, and we anticipate being on site for the remainder of today.

"We’d like to thank everyone in the area for their continued patience.”
