A woman whose body was found on Douglas Beach earlier this month had drowned, an inquest has been told.

Kathryn Kaslik's body was found on Douglas Beach opposite the Tower House Shopping Centre shortly before 14:00 BST on 8 February.

The 51-year-old retired teacher lived in Derby Square in Douglas.

Coroner Rachel Braidwood said investigations into Ms Kaslik's death were ongoing.

The court heard Kaslik, who was born in Saudi Arabia, had last been seen on the night of 7 February but had accessed her laptop the following morning.

Her body was discovered later the same day and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cordon remained in place on part of Douglas Promenade Walkway for more than two hours as investigations took place.

Adjourning the inquest at Douglas Courthouse, Ms Braidwood passed her condolences on to Ms Kaslik's family.
