A day of action in problem areas of Coventry led to "significant" arrests, according to police.

Three people were arrested in connection with serious youth violence as officers patrolled areas in the north east of the city.

Warwickshire Retail Park, the Airport Retail Park, Gallagher Retail Park and Coventry's arena were among the locations patrolled by uniformed and plain-clothes officers.

A fourth person was arrested in connection with shop thefts in the patch.

West Midlands Police said it was part of Operation Chino, a monthly day of high-intensity policing focusing on a different area of the city.

It is run based on "high priority issues" in each area, with officers seeking to provide reassurance and engage with business owners.
