Three suspected shoplifters who are alleged to have stolen clothes which were then concealed in a baby's pushchair have been arrested.

Kent Police said the women, from Croydon in south London, travelled to Tunbridge Wells and were detained on 17 December.

Items worth more than £300 were reportedly stolen from a TK Maxx store in Longfield Road and the goods are said to have had their security tags removed before being hidden in an empty pushchair.

The force said it was made aware at around 13:00 GMT after security staff at the shop apprehended one of the suspects.

Kent Police said officers carried out searches at other retail areas nearby and successfully located and detained the other women.

A vehicle linked to them was also located, where further suspicious items were seized, said police.

All three suspects were taken into custody and were bailed with the condition to return to a police station in January.
