Fatal road sweeper crash investigation continues

A man arrested after a woman was killed when she was hit by a road sweeping vehicle remains on bail, police have said.
Khatija Umarji, 77, was struck by the council vehicle in Commercial Street, Batley, on the morning of 24 June.
A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving shortly after the incident, which took place at about 09:55 BST.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said he remained on bail and the investigation was ongoing.
Kirklees Council said the road sweeper was a local authority vehicle and it was fully co-operating with police.
