Two cars ended up in a pile after a crash which reportedly caused a "minor" gas leak.

Hampshire Constabulary said a BMW hit a parked Audi on Spring Road, Southampton, at about 18:20 GMT on Sunday.

Officers said they had spoken to the driver and inquiries were continuing into the circumstances. No-one was injured.

Gas firm SGN said it was repairing two pipes after gas was detected around a main.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service said gas engineers were "repairing a minor leak from the base of a damaged street light".

SGN said three-way temporary traffic lights were in place for the work, although it was not known how long the repairs would take.
