Person in hospital after M5 crash

The M5 near Bridgwater has now reopened

One person has been taken to hospital after a crash on the M5.

All lanes have now been reopened in both directions between junction 23 (Bridgwater north) and junction 24 (Bridgwater south) in Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Police said they were called at 10:00 BST to a single-vehicle collision.

Both carriageways were initially closed and the air ambulance was sent to the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "One person has been taken to hospital by land ambulance.

"If anyone was in the area and witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage, please call 101 and quote reference 5224198427."
