An investigation has been launched after a man died in police custody.
A 59-year-old from Sandwell was arrested in the early hours of Thursday for harassment and was taken to West Midlands Police's custody suite in Oldbury.
The force said he was assessed by healthcare professionals and was subsequently charged and remanded to appear before court, but was found unresponsive at about 09:00 BST on Friday, police said.
It added staff performed CPR before paramedics arrived, but the man later died in hospital.
West Midlands Police said it had notified the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and an investigation was taking place.
The man's family had been informed as well as the local coroner, a police spokesperson added.
