Woman arrested after 'serious' A65 crash

A woman has been arrested following a "serious" crash involving two cars on the A65.

North Yorkshire Police said officers were called to reports of a collision at Long Preston at around 16:40 GMT on Thursday.

The woman, who was driving of one of the vehicles, was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a roadside breath test.

The road was also closed in both directions while emergency services attended the incident. The force has not provided any further details about the crash.
