A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a two-vehicle crash, police have said.
Surrey Police said officers were called to the A322 in Lightwater, between the M3 junction and the Red Road roundabout, at around 20:00 BST on Friday.
A woman in her 20s, who was driving one of the vehicles, was declared dead at the scene, the force said. Her next of kin have been informed.
The arrested man, aged 30 and from Bracknell in Berkshire, was driving the other vehicle, said police.
He was also arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through alcohol.
The vehicles involved in the crash were a silver Nissan and a silver BMW, police added.
The road was closed in both directions but has since fully opened.
A force spokesperson asked witnesses and anyone with relevant footage to get in touch.
