Man dies after being hit by lorry on A5

Emergency services were expected to be at the scene for some time

A man has died after being hit by a lorry on the A5 in Leicestershire.
Leicestershire Police said officers were called to the road, near the Dodwells roundabout near Hinckley, just after 05:40 BST on Sunday following a report that a pedestrian had been hit by an HGV.
The force said the man had suffered injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A5, between Dodwells roundabout and the roundabout at Hammonds Way, has since reopened, National Highways confirmed.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
