A drug dealer who made £679,000 by selling cocaine and cannabis has been ordered to repay his profits.

Maroof Rahman, 36, was found stashing drugs, a firearm and ammunition when police raided his home in Mill Road, Cambridge, in August 2022.

He was jailed for 13 years and eight months last summer, with Cambridgeshire Police branding him a "dangerous individual".

Rahman was ordered to repay almost £31,000 within three months during a hearing at Huntingdon Crown Court on Wednesday.

An order was made for the remaining money to be paid upon his release from prison.

"Not only has he got a significant prison sentence, but he must also pay back his ill-gotten gains," Det Con James Campbell said.

The officer added Rahman had been "running a criminal enterprise across the city" before he was jailed.

Detectives found almost £18,000 in cash when they raided Rahman's home, as well as cannabis, cocaine and "equipment for the production of drugs".

The drug dealer later admitted a number of charges, including:

  • Being concerned in the supply of cannabis

  • Possession of cocaine

  • Acquiring criminal property

  • Possession with intent to supply both cocaine and cannabis

Rahman was found guilty of possessing a firearm and ammunition.
