A road in Nottingham city centre has been closed after a building was damaged by wind, police have said.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers sealed off Queen's Road, near the city's railway station, at 15:00 GMT on Friday after reports the roof of an apartment building was in an unsafe state.

The force said it had put up a cordon to allow firefighters to attend the scene.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
