A planning application has been submitted to build 42 homes in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

The plan, by Ellesmere-based T&T Lloyd, would see the homes built on Terrick Road, near a golf course.

As well as the homes, a new road would be built to access them, with a roundabout leading to the corner of the site.

Also proposed is a public open space, a play area, a pedestrian link in the adjacent field, and habitat creations.

"The physical changes to the site itself will be extensive although essentially within the established landscape structure, which will be retained and enhanced," said Gareth Rowlinson, from Concept Town Planning.

"The mitigation measures include strengthening the perimeter hedgerows and creating new "wooded" areas in the north-eastern and southwestern extremes of the site."

A consultation on the proposals is open until 12 August.
