Seaside village displays are top of the pots

The Simpsons have swapped Springfield for the East Yorkshire coast as part of the annual Flamborough Flowerpot Festival

A host of weird and wonderful creations, made entirely of flowerpots, have gone on display around a seaside village.
Spongebob Squarepants, Darth Vader and The Simpsons are just some of the attractions on offer at the third annual Flamborough Flowerpot Festival in East Yorkshire.
The BBC has been out and about to spot some of the contenders for the top of the pots at the event, which runs until the end of June.

Darth Vader and the stormtroopers from Star Wars have arrived from a galaxy far, far away to visit Flamborough

The stars of Gladiators were also represented at this year's festival, bringing some true flower power to the displays

No event in Flamborough would be complete without some seaside-themed creations

He usually lives in a pineapple under the sea but, for the next few weeks, Spongebob Squarepants will be residing in East Yorkshire

There are still six months before Christmas but someone in Flamborough is already in the festive spirit
