A man driving a mobility scooter was spotted on the A419

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after members of the public saw a mobility scooter being driven along a busy A-road.

Wiltshire Police officers were called to the northbound carriageway of the A419 between Blunsdon and Calcutt at approximately 14.50 BST on Monday.

A man in his 40s and a mobility scooter were located just off the A419 shortly after, and he was found to have no insurance.

He was arrested on suspicion of a drug drive offence and no insurance and has been released under investigation.
