Volunteer crew helps put out multiple house fires

Volunteer fire crews have been utilised to help put out a fire at several properties under construction.
The Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade (PVFB) was called to the Hampton area of Peterborough at 05:30 BST to support members of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service to bring the blaze under control.
In total, six appliances and an aerial appliance attended, with the fire extinguished by about 09:30, the fire service said.
An investigation has begun to establish the cause of the fire.
According to its website, external, Peterborough volunteer fire station supports fire services across the UK, with its two fire engines crewed by unpaid firefighters.
It operates as a private fire brigade under a contract with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority, and comes under the jurisdiction of the county chief fire officer for responding to emergencies and training.
All potential volunteer firefighters go through the same recruitment process as wholetime and on-call firefighters.
