Stranded woman rescued from dyke in stormy weather

A vulnerable woman was rescued in stormy conditions after becoming stranded on a riverbank.
Hemsby Lifeboat, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk said it was called to Oulton Dyke, near Lowestoft, Suffolk, at about 21:00 GMT on Friday.
A statement from the independent lifeboat said its crew "quickly found the individual" who was taken across the river to a rendezvous point.
The woman was taken to hospital for a check-up.
Gorleston Coastguard, police and the ambulance service were also called to the scene.
Hemsby Lifeboat has a seagoing vessel – as well as an inshore lifeboat which covers The Broads.
After the rescue, the lifeboat posted on Facebook, external: "A huge thanks to our crew for their excellent work and dedication."
