Pedestrian dies after collision with a car

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car, police said.
Essex Police shut Powers Hall End, Witham, for five hours after the collision at 10:00 GMT on Sunday.
Detectives appealed for witnesses after a woman in her 40s died at the scene.
A man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, was released under investigation.
