Three deny attempted murder after teenager stabbed

Three people have pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after a teenage boy was stabbed in a busy town centre shopping area.

Police said the 17-year-old was seriously injured at the junction of Abington Street and Fish Street in Northampton at about 17:10 BST on Monday, 19 May.

Hamza Zaki Sharif, 23, of Simons Walk in Northampton, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, while a 17-year-old boy denied that charge.

All three were remanded in custody and a trial date was set for 3 November.
