Two men have been arrested by police investigating reports of child sexual abuse in West Yorkshire in the 1980s.
Police arrested the men, aged 65 and 70, after a man reported sexual abuse committed against him as a child in the Todmorden area between 1987 and 1988.
They were arrested at addresses in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and Hyde, Greater Manchester, on Wednesday, and released under investigation, police said.
During property searches, a third man, aged 65, was arrested on suspicion of possession of indecent images of children. He remains under investigation.
'Heinous crime'
Det Insp Emma Dillon of Calderdale Safeguarding Unit said: "Safeguarding and protecting children is a top priority for the force and this operation forms part of West Yorkshire Police’s ongoing commitment to investigating both current and non-recent sexual offences against children.
"Child sexual abuse and exploitation is an abhorrent and heinous crime and one which affects some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
"We would urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse, no matter when it took place, to report it to the police."
