A man has been charged over the alleged attempted murder in connection with an incident in Renfrewshire.

A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital after being found injured in William Street in Johnstone on Friday evening.

Officers arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with a serious assault, but he has now been charged with attempted murder.

He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.
