A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries after a collision involving an e-bike in Leicestershire.

A man, aged in his 40s, was struck by the e-bike at about 01:40 BST on Saturday on Normandy Way, Hinckley.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition, said Leicestershire Police.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with the incident, and on Sunday police said he had been bailed pending further investigations.

The road was closed following the crash but has since reopened and police have asked witnesses to get in touch.
