Teenager arrested over spate of street robberies

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a spate of street robberies in Leeds.
A 19-year-old man was detained on Tuesday following reports of six robberies in the city centre, West Yorkshire Police said.
In one incident on 30 June, a 53-year-old man was repeatedly punched in the face and had possessions stolen while he had been waiting for a taxi in Merrion Street.
The suspect remained in police custody on Wednesday, a force spokesperson said.
