Man, 40, dies after two-vehicle collision

A 40-year-old man has died after being involved in a two-vehicle collision.

Suffolk Police said it was called to Cotton End Road, in Newmarket, at about 22:22 BST on Friday.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were also at the scene of the incident, which involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Volkswagen Touran.

Police said the driver of the Volkswagen was declared dead at the scene and a male passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remained.

The driver of the Vauxhall sustained minor injuries and a passenger sustained serious injuries. They both remained in hospital.

Police said the road was closed between Landwade Road and Red House stud, but it had since reopened.

The force asked anyone who saw the incident, or has dash cam, footage to contact them.
