Care home invites the elderly for Christmas lunch

A care home in Chichester is opening its doors on Christmas Day to invite older people in the community to join its festivities.

Staff and residents at Augusta Court, external have organised a day of Christmas cheer for people from the town who would otherwise be home alone.

Manager Magda Zajac said: "We are delighted here at Augusta Court that we can give something back to our local community."

Guests can join for for Christmas lunch, take part in festive activities including games and sing-alongs, and then be taken home when they are ready, all free of charge.

The home is calling on local people to get in touch if they want to join in.
