Wolverhampton Wanderers' footballers have paid a visit to a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school to hand out Christmas gifts to children.

Captain Max Kilman, forward Nathan Fraser and defender Santiago Bueno visited Woodsetton School in Dudley on 14 December.

The Wolves skipper said it was "so important" to give back to the community.

"Showing the kids our faces is really nice for them," Kilman added.

Kilman, 26, made his Wolves debut in 2019 and recently signed a new five-year contract with the club.

He told BBC Radio WM it was a "pleasure" to visit the school.

"When I was a kid, I didn't have many opportunities for you know, footballers to come to my school, so it's really nice and of course, we love to do things like this for the children," he explained.

"It's great to be there for them and to show our support."

Teacher Tom Robinson said the players' visit to school was "something unforgettable".

"I think it's a memory after today that I know will certainly live long with me but also the children," he said.

"It's really inspiring for them to know [the footballers] have been to their school."

The school, on Tipton Road, is a partner of the club's official charity, the Wolves Foundation, which visits the school each week to deliver PE lessons and to help with its after-school club.

"I can't speak highly enough of Wolves Foundation and the opportunities that they give us," Mr Robinson added.

"We get to take part in days like today and other events."
