Man charged after seven hurt in Christmas Eve crash

A man has been charged in connection with a crash in the Highlands on Christmas Eve, which saw seven people taken to hospital.

The collision, which involved two cars, happened on the A82 at Invergloy, north of Fort William, at about 17:00 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said on Wednesday that a man had been charged with road traffic offences.

Insp Katy Duncan said inquiries into the crash were ongoing.

She said: "We are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a vehicle which was being overtaken at the time of the crash."

The casualties were all taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William.

Two children, aged six and 15, were transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries on Sunday evening.

A woman was also transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
