A man has been found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage girl at a New Year's Eve party in Jersey.
Gordon James Burnett, 64, was found guilty at the Royal Court of the attack that took place on a private property.
The court heard Burnett, a UK resident who had travelled to the island for the party, put his arm up the victim's skirt and inside her underwear shortly after midnight.
He is due to be sentenced on 18 October.
The victim reported the attack to police on the same night and Burnett was arrested a short time later at the hotel he was staying at, the court heard.
Jersey Police said Burnett and the victim did not know each other before the attack.
Det Con Ben Casson, from the Public Protection Unit, thanked the victim for coming forward.
"We recognise how hard it can be for victims to come forward and wish to reassure the public that we, and the services we work alongside, will do everything in our power to support victims of sexual abuse whether or not they wish to pursue a criminal case," he said.
