Firefighters are still at the scene of a blaze at a Dundee recycling centre four days after it broke out.

Crews began tackling the "deep-seated fire" in the garden waste area at the Riverside Reycling Centre's composting facility in Wright Avenue shortly before 18:00 on Thursday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said three appliances remain at the scene.

Dundee City Council said the facility would be closed until further notice.

Nearby residents been advised to close their doors and windows due to smoke from the fire.

Dundee City Council said alternative recycling facilities were available at the Baldovie household waste recycling centre.

SFRS local senior officer Bryan Todd said: "This will be a protracted incident, and we are working closely with Dundee City Council and our emergency service partners to bring things to a safe conclusion.

"We thank the public for their ongoing co-operation and patience as we work to make the area safe."
