Patients and visitors to Frimley Park Haspital have been advised to allow extra travel time

A Surrey hospital has warned patients and visitors that they could experience delays travelling to the site due to two months of roadworks.

The warning from Frimley Park Hospital comes as Surrey County Council (SCC) contractors carry out safety improvement works on the A325 Portsmouth Road.

The council said the work will include lane restrictions and overnight closures but there will be access to all properties.

The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust has advised hospital patients to allow extra travel time.

SCC said it would work overnight, which would help see a "shorter period of disruption".

It said: "There will be some noise, but we will try to carry out the bulk of the noisiest works before midnight.”

The work includes installing a signalised pedestrian crossing, widening footways, and changing kerbs and road markings, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

It is due to finish on 30 August.
