A man has been arrested and a firearm recovered after a disturbance in Nottingham.

Officers were called to Roden Street, St Ann’s, at 04:22 BST on Sunday before being made aware of a man being injured nearby on Lowdham Street.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public order and firearms offences before being taken to hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to his foot.

His injures are not believed to be life-threatening, officers said.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward and confirmed a handgun had been recovered from the scene and taken away for further examination.
