Trial date set for man accused of manslaughter

A man accused of killing another man in a West Yorkshire town will go on trial later this year.

Daniel Illingworth, 34, died after he was assaulted on Bridge Street in Keighley in the early hours of 7 March, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Joseph Smith, 39, appeared at Bradford Crown Court earlier charged with manslaughter, and a trial date was set for 4 August.

Mr Smith, of Carlby Grove, was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at the same court which is due to take place on 15 July.
