A family's cat has been killed by an air rifle, police have said.

Dobby, a four-year-old white cat, was spotted in distress by people living in the Aiskew Grove area of Stockton, on Teesside, on Thursday.

His owners found him dead the next morning, at the junction with Kipling Grove.

Cleveland Police is appealing for witnesses and information about the attack.
