Charges have been dropped against three people who were accused in connection with the alleged attempted kidnap of a child from a hospital.

Edris Sahabzada, Abrahim Sahabzada, and Zahra Sahebzadeh had been charged with conspiracy to kidnap after the alleged incident at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton between 12 and 14 February.

But the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed the case against the Wolverhampton trio has been discontinued.

The case will proceed against 36-year-old Safia Ahmadei, who has denied attempting to kidnap a child and conspiracy to kidnap, the CPS said.

The student nurse, also from Wolverhampton, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on 3 May.

A trial date was set for 12 August during a previous hearing.
