A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the A1 near Grantham.

The rider, a man in his 20s, was travelling on the northbound carriageway on a black Yamaha R125 shortly before 14:15 BST on Thursday, Lincolnshire Police said.

He ended up on the opposite carriageway, a few hundred metres from the Foston junction, a force spokesperson said.

The casualty remained in hospital on Friday in a serious but stable condition, they added.

Police said both carriageways of the A1 were closed for a time, but had since reopened.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch.
