An initiative to encourage Surrey households to register for solar panels has been extended.

Elmbridge Borough Council is backing the Solar Together scheme, where communities can invest in solar panels, with optional battery storage and electric vehicle charge points.

Any residents who have already bought solar panels can also get involved in the scheme.

It is free to register and there is no obligation to go ahead with an installation.

The council said 2,250 Surrey residents have benefitted from the installation of solar panels and battery storage since 2021.

The scheme is open for resident to register their interest to 13 September.
