The Border Agency said the fee increase would bring Guernsey in line with the UK Home Office

The cost of a standard adult passport in Guernsey is to increase from £100 to £107 from 1 June.

A standard child's passport will increase in price from £69 to £74.

Fast-track passport application fees will also cost more, with an adult's going up to £178 and a child's rising to £145.

The Border Agency said the charges would bring Guernsey's passport pricing inline with the UK Home Office which introduced a fee increase on 10 April.

The agency said standard passport applications were currently taking about seven weeks to process.

It advised residents to check when their passport was due to expire.

If it was going to expire soon, islanders should check whether the country they plan to travel to would allow them to enter, the agency added.
